Action is seeking a Part-Time Maintenane Technician I to join our Huntington Pacific Beach property in Huntington Beach.
The Maintenance Technician I plays a key role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of building systems and facilities. This position focuses on performing routine maintenance tasks and providing support to senior technicians on more complex repairs and projects. Under supervision, the Maintenance Technician I contributes to basic repairs and maintenance while gaining hands-on experience and developing skills for advanced responsibilities.
Compensation: $25 per hour
Schedule: 20 hours per week
What You’ll Do (Job Duties)
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, minor plumbing repairs, and landscaping.
- Assist in conducting preventive maintenance tasks, including filter changes, lubrication, and inspections.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests under the supervision of a higher-level technician.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inventory.
- Assist in maintaining common areas, including cleaning, trash removal, and landscaping.
- Assist in maintaining the pool and spa, including cleaning, chemical treatments, and basic equipment operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are (Skills/Experience)
- Minimum of 1 year of general maintenance experience. Residential or commercial building experience preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance principles and practices.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools, personal protective equipment and OSHA standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as a part of a team.
- Strong worth ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- EPA 608 license: preferred at the time of hire but must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Weekly Fire Certificate: Must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Action will reimburse employee.
- Arc Flashing Certificate: Action provided training within 1 year of hire.
- First Aid/CPR Certificate: Action provided training within 1 year of hire.
- OSHA 10: Action provided training within 6 months of hire.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
