Job Description
Description
AppFolio is more than a company. We’re a community of dreamers, big thinkers, problem solvers, active listeners, and multipliers. At every opportunity, we set the pace while delivering innovation built to carry real estate into the future. One in which every experience feels effortless, yet meaningful. Where customers are empowered to take on any opportunity. We show up as one team, connected by our values to be a force for good. Because together, we have the power to create extraordinary outcomes for our customers, our communities, and ourselves.
The Sr. Talent Acquisition Manager will lead a team of recruiters and serve as a key driver of AppFolio's hiring strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. This role sits at the center of our talent ecosystem, working in lockstep with Talent Enablement, HR, and business leaders to deliver a streamlined, data-informed, and impactful hiring experience that supports our growth and drives exceptional outcomes. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition.
Location: This role is open to candidates in the San Diego and Santa Barbara, CA areas, with a hybrid work model.
Your Impact
As a Sr. Talent Acquisition Manager, you’ll be expected to operate at a high level across the Talent Acquisition function – the areas below reflect the range and depth of capability we’re looking for:
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Guide, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of recruiters, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Oversee day-to-day operations of the recruiting team, providing support and guidance for various full lifecycle recruiting issues. This includes assisting with candidate communication strategies, navigating complex offer negotiations, and advising on effective engagement and collaboration with hiring managers. You will also embed inclusive, unbiased hiring practices throughout every stage of the process.
- Trusted Hiring Partner: Partner closely with business leaders across all departments to anticipate talent needs, translate them into actionable recruitment strategies, and influence hiring decisions. Act as an individual contributor, carrying your own req load for complex and strategic hires. You will influence and guide hiring managers with clear advice, data, and market insights.
- Plan & Prioritize: Understand the hiring plan deeply—know the timing, trade-offs, and what's most critical.
- Cultivate Partnerships: Build robust relationships and act as a key liaison across the Talent Acquisition team (including Talent Operations and Enablement, and the Sr. Staff Recruiter) and with other critical functions such as HR and Finance, to ensure seamless and efficient hiring processes.
- Comp & Leveling Fluency: Know how AppFolio’s compensation and leveling work, ensuring equitable and competitive offers.
- Raise the Bar: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the Talent Acquisition team's influence and impact within the broader AppFolio organization.
- Talent Market Insight: Bring a strong understanding of where to find talent and how to compete for it, leveraging your expertise to attract top-tier candidates.
- Operational Excellence: Leverage day-to-day recruiting data and insights to continuously refine the recruitment process and implement innovative messaging, sourcing, and hiring methodologies. Drive operational excellence by owning core recruiting metrics specific to team performance, such as time-to-fill and offer-acceptance rates, ensuring a consistent, high-quality process from start to finish.
- Employer Branding: Collaborate with Marketing to craft content and campaigns that attract top talent.
- Great Candidate Experience: Represent AppFolio’s brand and values/Why AppFolio in every interaction, ensuring a positive and engaging journey for all candidates.
- Stay Informed: Build strong acumen to understand AppFolio’s products, markets, and strategy, enabling the attraction and assessment of talent aligned with our long-term goals.
