Summary
The Landscape Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the health and visual appeal of the association grounds, ensuring a premium experience for residents. This role combines expertise in turf management, landscaping, and advanced irrigation systems. The Landscape Manager will oversee daily upkeep of landscaped areas, and the association grounds, with a strong focus on efficient water management. Working closely with the Superintendent, Ground Operations and third-party contractors, this role plays a key part in preserving the functional and aesthetic excellence of the grounds.

Landscape And Turf Maintenance
- Manage the health and aesthetics of the association grounds, turf landscaped areas.
- Implement a comprehensive turf care program, including mowing, fertilizing, pest management, aeration, and topdressing.
- Oversee landscaping for association grounds, ensuring all areas are visually appealing and meet community standards.
Irrigation System Management
- Hands-on experience with day-to-day irrigation operations including troubleshooting, adjustments, repairs, and field-level system management
- Oversee, operate, and maintain all irrigation systems on the association grounds, ensuring efficient water use.
- Conduct regular field inspections of irrigation practices and systems within the association, identifying and addressing leaks, broken sprinklers, or other issues.
- Work closely with the association’s third-party contractor to monitor all irrigation practices, and review and approve any requests for adjustments to irrigation computer settings and run times.
Coordination And Reporting
- Report to and assist the Director of Operations and Golf Course Superintendent on all matters related to water needs across the association grounds.
- Act as the primary liaison between the association and third-party landscaping and irrigation contractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on landscaping and irrigation standards.
- Serve as an intermediary between the association and all irrigation consultants to ensure best practices and effective communication.
Moisture And Seasonal Adjustments
- Review moisture monitoring results and formulate irrigation run times for the association based on seasonal conditions.
- Adapt irrigation schedules and run times to respond to seasonal changes, ensuring efficient and effective watering practices for all grounds.
Staff Supervision And Training
- Lead and supervise a team of groundskeepers and irrigation technicians.
- Delegate tasks to ensure timely maintenance of landscaping and irrigation for association grounds.
- Train staff on equipment use, irrigation operations, and best practices in association landscaping.
Equipment And Resource Management
- Oversee the use, maintenance, and inventory of landscaping and irrigation equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and encourage a safe work environment.
Environmental And Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all landscaping and irrigation activities adhere to environmental regulations and standards.
- Implement water conservation and sustainable landscaping techniques for the association.
- Maintain records of pesticide and fertilizer applications in line with regulatory standards.
Technology And Irrigation System Expertise
- Maintain knowledge and training on the Rainbird Centralized Irrigation System for precise water management.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in landscaping, with a strong background in irrigation systems and turf care.
- Knowledge of irrigation software and controls, along with proficiency in managing automated irrigation systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair irrigation system components and operate relevant landscaping equipment.
- Certification in pesticide application (or ability to obtain certification) preferred.
- Experience with multi-zone irrigation systems, including auditing and backflow knowledge.
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic irrigation systems
- Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365, and other relevant computer software knowledge recommended.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent helpful.
- Minimum of one year related job experience.
Language Skills
The individual must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
