About The Role

Lead One of Marina del Rey’s Premier Luxury Residential Communities

Action Property Management is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and long-term success of Azzurra, a premier luxury high-rise residential community in Marina del Rey.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional with 8–10+ years of HOA/high-rise property management experience, strong business and financial acumen, operational expertise, and a luxury hospitality mindset.

The General Manager serves as the trusted advisor to the Board of Directors, senior leader of the onsite team, and a key ambassador to residents. This role oversees $7M+ operating and reserve budgets, capital projects, vendor partnerships, building operations, and complex community matters while ensuring an exceptional resident experience.

We are looking for a strategic, polished, people-focused leader who can balance financial stewardship, operational excellence, Board relations, luxury service, and team development.

What We're Looking For

High-Rise HOA Expertise

  • 8–10+ years of progressive HOA/high-rise residential property management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing a large, complex, luxury residential community.

Business & Financial Acumen

  • Strong understanding of budgets, financial reporting, reserves, forecasting, contracts, and cost controls.
  • Experience managing $7M+ operating and reserve budgets preferred.

Luxury Hospitality Experience

  • Luxury hotel, resort, private club, or other high-touch service experience strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of service standards, discretion, responsiveness, and creating an exceptional resident experience.

People Leadership

  • Proven success recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to create accountability while building trust and engagement.

Executive Presence

  • Polished communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively partner with Board members, homeowners, executives, attorneys, consultants, vendors, and onsite teams.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, judgment, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Board Relations

  • Serve as the Board of Directors' primary advisor and strategic partner.
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations and sound judgment on operational, financial, capital, and community matters.
  • Prepare and present management reports, budgets, financial information, and strategic recommendations.
  • Attend evening Board meetings and special events as needed.
  • Build trusted relationships with Board members, homeowners, residents, vendors, and community partners.

Operations & Resident Experience

  • Oversee daily building operations, resident services, amenities, facilities, and onsite staff.
  • Maintain high standards of luxury service and operational excellence.
  • Address complex homeowner concerns with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve resident experience, efficiency, and overall property performance.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing onsite team.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
  • Build a collaborative culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and develop emerging leaders and talent.

Financial & Business Management

  • Oversee $7M+ operating and reserve budgets.
  • Partner with the Board on budgeting, forecasting, reserve funding, and long-term financial planning.
  • Monitor financial performance, expenses, and cost controls.
  • Translate financial information into clear business recommendations.

Capital Projects & Complex Issues

  • Oversee major capital improvements, repairs, preventative maintenance, and long-term building planning.
  • Manage projects, vendors, consultants, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate responses to HOA litigation, construction/structural defect matters, insurance issues, and other complex technical or legal challenges.
  • Identify operational risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts and service relationships.
  • Monitor vendor performance, quality, responsiveness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure vendors meet established service standards and contractual obligations.

Required Skills /Abilities

  • 8–10+ years of HOA/high-rise property management experience preferred.
  • Experience with luxury residential or similarly complex properties.
  • Experience with capital projects, building operations, vendor management, and long-term planning.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors and sophisticated resident populations.
  • HOA litigation, construction defects, or structural issue experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CMCA required; PCAM preferred.
  • Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to attend evening Board meetings and special events as needed.

Education / Certification

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • CMCA certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
